BGL proudly ushers in a new era of leadership as Managing Partner Sharon Krevor-Weisbaum retires and Partner Jessie Weber is appointed as firm’s next managing partner. – Go Health Pro

Brown, Goldstein & Levy has announced that Managing Partner Sharon Krevor-Weisbaum will retire at the end of 2024 and BGL Partner Jessie Weber will become the firm’s next managing partner.

“I love what I do and what my colleagues and I have accomplished on behalf of our clients,” Sharon said. “I am very proud of the culture and quality of legal services that Brown, Goldstein & Levy provides. I have complete confidence in Jessie. She is one of the most special people I know and has all the qualities needed to move BGL forward.”

Sharon started working at Brown, Goldstein & Levy as a law clerk in her second year of law school, when BGL had two partners, two associates, and a few staff members. In 2000, Sharon returned to BGL after 11 years at the Office of the Attorney General of Maryland. In January 2016, she became the firm’s first Managing Partner.

Sharon’s experience at the Office of the Attorney General of Maryland earlier in her career gave her knowledge, perspective, and relationships that fueled her return to BGL. She has worked with a wide range of clients but is best known for her work on behalf of individuals with disabilities and her passionate and forceful representation of non-profit and for-profit entities that provide support and services to individuals with disabilities. Since her first days at BGL, the firm has grown from just a handful of attorneys and staff members to a full team of 22 attorneys practicing nationally in a variety of areas from commercial litigation to civil rights to criminal defense, all supported by a strong professional staff.

Sharon has guided BGL to continued growth and success while balancing her own active practice, family life, and significant volunteer work with several Maryland non-profits and the Maryland State Bar Association.

Jessie is a tenacious litigator who enjoys both advocating for her clients in court and working to build consensus at the negotiating table. She is known nationally for her groundbreaking work obtaining equal access for individuals with disabilities to voting, education, websites, and government information and services. She is excited to be BGL’s next managing partner.

“Sharon’s leadership has set a high bar, but I am surrounded by an extraordinarily talented and passionate team of attorneys and professional staff who are well-positioned to ensure our success,” Jessie said. “I look forward to leading Brown, Goldstein & Levy into its next chapter.”

Jessie has obtained significant judgments and settlements for clients in cases involving civil rights (including disability and LGBTQ rights) and employment law (including wage and hour cases). Jessie is also an experienced appellate litigator and has argued before the Fourth, Sixth, Ninth, and D.C. Circuit Courts of Appeals.

Jessie has served on the boards of the ACLU of Maryland and FreeState Justice, Maryland’s statewide LGBTQ equality group. She is currently Disability Rights Maryland’s board president and is a permanent member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference. She attended Princeton University and received her J.D. from Yale Law School.

BGL is honored to have benefitted tremendously from Sharon’s steadfast leadership and wishes her the best in her new chapter. As we bid farewell, we are also enthusiastic about welcoming a new era of BGL leadership, with Jessie at the helm.
