C. Peter Paul, 88, of Sturgeon Bay passed away at Cardinal Ridge on April 11, 2025. He was born March 23, 1937, in Sturgeon Bay to Francis and Edna (Kohls) Paul. After attending grade school at Sts. Peter and Paul in Institute, he graduated from St. Norbert High School and St. Norbert College in DePere.
Peter was in the ROTC Program in college and upon graduation in 1959, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army. He married Mary Ellen Bley that same year on Sept. 7, 1959, in Egg Harbor.
During his career in the U. S. Army, Peter served in the medical service corp. He was stationed at Trois-Fountaine, France; Albuquerque, New Mexico; San Antonio, Texas; Korea; Dallas, Texas; San Antonio and Augusta, Georgia; Washington D.C. and then back to San Antonio. After retiring from the army in 1980, he went to work at the Milwaukee Medical Complex as an hospital administrator. He retired again in 1994 to enjoy life with his family and play golf.
Survivors include his wife; a son Gary (Karen) Paul, Madison; four step grandchildren, Tim (Haley), Tom (Bonnie), Josh, and Jordan (Taylor); one step great grandson, Finn; in-laws, Diann Ehlers and Penny (Tim) Biwer; many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Kitty Grace, a brother Edmund (Genevieve), a sister Barbara (Al) Vandertie, parents-in-law Stanley “Smokey” and Marian Bley; other in-laws, Bonnie (Doug) Viste and Daniel Ehlers; and niece Anne Trimble.
Funeral Services with military honors will be conducted at 11 am on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Forbes Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Fort Sam Houston Cemetery in Texas. Memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project in his name.
