Transforming Elderly Care With AI-native Network – Go Health Pro

Juniper Networks has partnered with St Luke’s ElderCare (SLEC) to implement an AI-Native networking platform across its facilities, enhancing user experiences and safeguarding sensitive data. This rollout aims to modernise the network infrastructure of SLEC’s nursing homes and senior care centres, with completion expected by the end of 2025.

Meeting the needs of an ageing population

As Singapore’s population ages—projected to see one in four residents aged 65 or older by 2030—SLEC has expanded from four to over 30 locations in the past 25 years. To support this growth, SLEC required a secure, scalable, and efficient network solution. The transition from 17 disparate IT systems to Juniper’s integrated AI-native network allows for seamless operations and enhanced connectivity across care facilities.

Dr Alan Wong, chief operating officer of St Luke’s ElderCare, says “By modernizing our network with Juniper’s AI-Native Networking Platform, we have transformed how we deliver care – ensuring seamless connectivity, strengthening cybersecurity and enabling innovative services for our elderly. This transformation has also empowered our caregivers with the tools they need to provide more personalized and efficient care, allowing us to future-proof our care services.”

“St Luke’s ElderCare’s goal is to provide holistic, high-quality care experiences that enhance the well-being of Singapore’s elderly community.” Dr Alan Wong

Enhancing operations with AI

Juniper’s deployment includes wired and wireless access, WAN, and firewall solutions powered by Mist AI, which provides end-to-end visibility and control over the network. This cloud-first approach simplifies the management of SLEC’s expanding infrastructure, enabling a lean IT team to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.

The transformation has resulted in significant improvements in operational efficiency and cybersecurity, ensuring a resilient network for both staff and residents.

Innovative services for elderly care

With the new AI-native network in place, SLEC has introduced innovative services such as virtual reality experiences for immersive travel and advanced robotics for rehabilitation. Additionally, a smart transport management system enables real-time tracking of vehicles, optimising routes to ensure safe transportation for elders.

Expressing pride in the partnership: “As we face the challenges of an aging population in Singapore, we are proud to partner with St Luke’s ElderCare (SLEC) on its journey of transformation and innovation,” says Perry Sui, area vice president for ASEAN, Hong Kong & Taiwan at Juniper Networks.

“Juniper’s AI-Native Networking Platform will enable SLEC to cater progressively to the growing demands of elder care through the seamless scaling of its infrastructure. We look forward to continuing to play a key role in SLEC’s progress as they enhance their services, creating a secure, future-ready environment that benefits caregivers, staff and elders alike.” Perry Siu

Commitment to future-ready care

Juniper’s high-performing network solutions not only enhance operational capabilities but also reinforce SLEC’s commitment to safety and well-being. By confidently adopting emerging technologies, SLEC is poised to set a new standard in elderly care in Singapore.

As the landscape of elderly care continues to evolve, the collaboration between Juniper and SLEC exemplifies how technology can enhance service delivery and improve the lives of seniors.
