I have been using iPhones for a very long time because of the smoothness and performance they offer. However, recently, I thought about testing the Android ecosystem and thought I should start with a budget device.
That’s when I came across the Samsung Galaxy A15.
This budget device was launched back in December 2023 and has been making waves in the smartphone industry. I’ve been using this phone for quite a while now and will share my thoughts on it in this article. Here, I’ll be reviewing some of the main features of this smartphone and helping you understand whether you should buy it or not. Let’s start.
An Overview Of Samsung Galaxy A15:
Samsung A15 is a budget smartphone that offers both power as well as aesthetic design. It has a Mediatek Helio G99 chipset, which is more than enough to handle your everyday apps and games. What influenced me to purchase this phone was its design.
It looks similar to several other flagship devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S24. Fortunately, a good design isn’t the only thing that I got with this smartphone. It has been performing very decently and barely shows any issues.

Detailed Review of Samsung Galaxy A15:
Now, I’m going to review some of the main points of this smartphone. Let’s start.
Design And Build Quality:
Design-wise, the Samsung Galaxy A15 is the best smartphone you can purchase in its price range. It has a very smooth build and has a glass finish on its back. The front screen might not impress many modern smartphone users because of the front-camera notch. However, it didn’t bother me at all.
The phone’s pretty comfortable to hold and has slightly rounded corners. On the back, you get three camera lenses that I’ll be discussing in detail a little later in this article. Despite having a plastic body and frame, this Galaxy model is pretty durable as well. Although I haven’t dropped it a lot but I’m sure it’ll be fine if you drop it from a low height.
Samsung has given only four color options here, but all of them are pretty eye-catching. You can get this phone in the following colors:
- Brave Black
- Optimistic Blue
- Magical Blue
- Personality Yellow
Software And Chipset:
The Samsung Galaxy A15 runs Android 14 with One UI v.6.0 coming out of the box. Samsung has made it possible to utilize all the features of this software version pretty easily. The best thing that I like about the software here is that you’ll be getting updates for it for the upcoming few years.
You’ll get software updates every now and then, and the phone updates you about it. You can then update the phone immediately or schedule it for later installation, which is a pretty handy feature.
As for the chipset, you’re getting Mediatek Helio G99 in this device. It might not be the most powerful chipset available in the market, but it’s pretty decent given the price of this model. You get an Octa-core CPU along with the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU in this device. Both of these components help run games and apps very smoothly.
RAM And Storage:
Samsung has been pretty generous with the RAM and storage options in the A15 model. You’re getting the following storage and RAM options in this device (respectively):
- 128GB/4GB
- 128GB/6GB
- 128GB/8GB
- 256GB/6GB
- 256GB/8GB
These specifications are more than enough to handle data and do multi-tasking. The unit that I am using has 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. I’ve stored tons of data in the device and there’s still 70% left.
Display:
I’ve watched a lot of videos and played a lot of games on this device. I’ve experienced that the Galaxy A15 has one of the best displays that you can get in this price range. It has a 6.5-inch screen with a Super AMOLED display.
You’re also getting a 90Hz refresh rate, which makes navigation a lot smoother.
With 800 nits of brightness, this smartphone isn’t very efficient when it comes to using it outdoors. You may struggle a bit to look at it on a sunny day. Overall, the display quality is very amazing for watching videos and enjoying games properly.
Camera:
The camera of the Samsung Galaxy A15 is the only thing that has disappointed me. Despite having very decent specifications, it does not capture pictures and videos as it should. It works pretty fine in daylight and you will get very amazing pictures and videos with it.
Things become a bit annoying when you use the camera indoors or somewhere with low lighting. Still, it is very good for a person who isn’t into mobile photography. As for the specifications, you’re getting a triple lens camera system on the back that includes:
- 50MP, f/1.8 (wide)
- 5MP, f/2.2 (ultrawide)
- 2MP, f/2.4 (macro)
The front camera shows pretty average results in low light as well. It is a 13MP wide lens that can still give pretty good selfies in daylight.
Games Testing:
Many people might want to buy a budget Android for gaming. The Galaxy A15 can handle games pretty well. I’ve played a bunch of high-end games on this device and they all run very smoothly. I’ve discussed some details of the games below:
PUBG Mobile:
PUBG Mobile works very decently on the Samsung Galaxy A15. You can run it on multiple graphics settings and it won’t show any lag or issues.
eFootball 2025:
eFootball 2025 works fine on this device as well. You can easily run it on standard graphics and 60fps. However, going above standard graphics may cause a bit of lag.
Call Of Duty Mobile:
I haven’t tried this game on the highest graphic settings. However, it works just fine on standard settings. The frame rate is pretty good, and the gameplay feels smooth as well.
Dream League Soccer:
Dream League Soccer is another game that you can easily enjoy on this device. It works pretty fine on the native graphic settings. The gameplay itself is very smooth but you may face lag in the menu and pre-match video.
Battery Life:
The Samsung Galaxy A15 has a 5000 mAh battery that is more than enough for average users. It can last for around two days if you casually use the phone. If you use it continuously, the battery can still offer around 15 hours of timing.
As for the charging speed, the phone can get charged from 0% to 100% in around 1 hour and 45 minutes with a 45W charger.
Pricing:
You can purchase the best version of the Samsung Galaxy A15 for around $200. Third-party retailers like Amazon may be able to offer the device at a bit lower price.
Conclusion:
Samsung Galaxy A15 is one of the finest Android smartphones that you can get in the mid-budget range. It comes with a decent design that’s pretty durable. Its performance is very justifiable for its price tag as well.
The only downside you may face with the device is its average camera results. Still, it won’t be much of an issue for general users. So, if you’re looking for a budget Android phone that can last for a while, trying out the A15 might be a good choice.
