March 31, 1954 – March 26, 2025
Jerry Sylvester Neinas, 70, of Brussels, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. He was born March 31, 1954, in Sturgeon Bay, he was the youngest son of the late Sylvester and Helen (Krueger) Neinas. He graduated from Southern Door High School in 1972 and, for a time after school, he worked for his uncle in the lumber business.
On Oct. 14, 1972, he married the love of his life, Rebecca Le Cloux, at St. Hubert’s Church in Rosiere, Wisconsin. They shared 52 years of marriage and raised a loving family together. Jerry worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator and Truckdriver for the Door County Highway Department for 35 years and served as Union Steward for several of those years. He took great pride in his work and during retirement undertook many excavation projects on his farm, and for his neighbors.
Jerry ran and operated his family farm from 1978 to present and was deeply proud of its legacy. There wasn’t anything he didn’t know about farming and he could fix just about anything. He frequently took his wife, children, grandchildren and their dogs on the UTV, “the Bobcat”, for rides on the farm. He was a lifelong deer hunter and enjoyed hunting with his friends, family, son and grandsons. Jerry loved baseball and enjoyed volunteering for the Kolberg Braves in the Door County Men’s Baseball league for many years. The community would see him selling tickets, grilling burgers or behind the beer stand most Sundays during the baseball season. His warm smile, hearty laugh and infectious story telling made people feel welcome, no matter the occasion.
Jerry was a lifelong member of Emanuel’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kolberg, Wisconsin and served on the church council for many years, frequently filling various positions that would best serve Christ and the church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was always interested in what they were doing, watching them play sports and other activities they were involved in. He was very proud of his family and he cherished time with his family and friends. Jerry loved life and lived it joyously. He will be sadly missed but will be remembered always with great love and affection.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca, his children Jennifer (Craig) Piczkowski and Dave (Katie) Neinas; and grandchildren, Kylie, Lucy, Charlie, Tyler and Henry. He is also survived by his siblings John (Jo Ann) Neinas, Linda (Dennis) Viste; mother-in-law Patricia Le Cloux, and sister-in-law Monica Fedolfi (Bob Carroll). Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Sylvester and Helen, his brother Dale Neinas, his father-in-law James Le Cloux, and his brother-in-law Dean Le Cloux.
Visitation will be held at Emanual Evangelical Lutheran Church at 8612 County Road D, Kolberg, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 9:30-11:30 am with funeral services to start at 11:30 am with the church with Reverend Curt Grube officiating. Forbes Funeral Home is serving the family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Unity Hospice for their kindness and care for Jerry.
