Obituary: Rosemary M. Lesperance – Door County Pulse – Go Health Pro

Dec. 9, 1947 – March 25, 2025

Rosemary M. Lesperance, 77, Algoma, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.  She was born Dec. 9, 1947 in Door County to the late Gordon and Elda (Strege) Carmody. Rosemary graduated from Algoma High School in 1966.

She met and married David Lesperance on Sept. 23, 1967 in Algoma.  After her marriage she worked for a time at the Sturgeon Bay Shoe Factory until it closed down.  Then she worked for Peterson Builders in Sturgeon Bay for a number of years, before retiring from WS Packaging in Algoma.

Rosemary enjoyed her time going to all of the sporting events for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, spending time with her sisters in person and on the phone, going to all the Algoma High School band concerts and watching the musical at Southern Door High School. In her earlier years she shot pool in a league for Sonny and Chips.

Rosemary is survived by her two daughters SuLynn Kostichka (significant other Greg Ronsman), and Sheila (Jake) Blahnik Sr.; five grandsons Travis (Sydney) Kostichka, Devin (Cassi) Kostichka, Sheldon Moore, Reese Moore and Jacob Blahnik Jr.; four great granddaughters Brooklyn Moore, Liberty Moore, Rylee Kostichka and Callah Kostichka and one great grandson Colton Kostichka; five sisters Sally (Gerald) Malvitz, Merry (Roger) Deprey, Patricia Carmody, Jean (Mark) Krueger and Bonnie Carmody; one brother Gordon (Diane) Carmody; three sisters-in-law Rose Carmody, Amy Carmody and Darlene (Warren) Waier; one brother-in-law James Dier.

She was preceded in death by her husband David, her parents, one sister Susan Phillips,  two brothers Albert (Butch) Carmody and Roger Carmody; in-laws Louis (Mary) Lesperance,two sisters-in-law Ann Dier and JoAnn Tullberg and brother-in-law Donald Tullberg.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation for Rosemary on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Schinderle Funeral Home, Algoma, from 4 pm until the time of the memorial service at 7 pm with Father Tim Machila. Burial will take place at a later date.
