A Farewell from WeConservePA’s Director of Education – Go Health Pro

After eight years working alongside Andy, the amazing staff here at WeConservePA, and the conservation community across Pennsylvania, it is bittersweet that I must share the news that I am moving on. I have accepted a position with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, in the Commonwealth Workforce Transformation Program office starting on November 25. With this new position comes a substantial opportunity to advance sustainability within the Commonwealth, a core interest for me. The Commonwealth Workforce Transformation Program seeks to build Pennsylvania’s workforce, create opportunities for on-the-job training, and prepare workers for green and sustainable industry jobs. I am excited for the opportunity to use all the skills I have learned here at WeConservePA to advance this work in a positive way.

While I look forward to tackling the new challenges that lie ahead, I will greatly miss each of you.

The relationships that I have built with land trust staff, parks and recreation staff, trail volunteers, and Environmental Advisory Council members are what has sustained my work for the past eight years. Anyone who has worked for a nonprofit organization can tell you that it can be exhausting! However, the energy and enthusiasm of our members and friends, and the dedication to your work, has inspired me even in the most stressful of times. The resilience of each of our organizations as we faced together the challenges and changes brought on by the COVID 19 pandemic, I’ll never forget. I sincerely hope that we can keep in touch.

Thank you all, and keep up the good work!
