Chubb has announced that Tim Benson (pictured) will join the company as executive vice president of multinational insurance, effective October 30.
Benson will oversee overall strategy, underwriting operations, product and business development across large, middle, and small businesses along with wholesale accounts within Chubb’s multinational book of business.
He will be situated in Chubb’s Philadelphia headquarters and will report to Matthew Merna, division president of North America Major Accounts. Benson and the multinational team will work closely with Chubb’s Global Services group.
Merna shared that Benson’s extensive industry experience and long tenure in Chubb is an asset to the company’s Multinational Insurance business unit as it grows and evolves.
“Tim’s track record of success at Chubb and proven leadership skills are an ideal fit for his new role. We are excited to see him bring Chubb’s full scope of multinational capabilities to our clients and distribution partners,” added Ben Rockwell, division president of Chubb Middle Market.
Benson succeeds Laura Vest who served the company for two decades.
“We are extremely grateful for Laura’s years of service and the invaluable leadership she has provided during her tenure at Chubb,” Merna said. “She has been a trusted partner and played an important role in our multinational operations as well as within our Dallas regional office. We wish her all the best in her retirement.”
Benson brings over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry to this role. Prior to this, he served as executive vice president & chief revenue officer for Chubb’s middle market division. Benson held multiple leadership roles throughout his career with Chubb, including various positions within field distribution and data analytics teams.
From 2011 to 2019, Benson headed the middle market and small commercial underwriting team which focuses on the international risks of US multinationals. He was also the head of Chubb’s Global Services organization. He began his career with Chubb in 2005 in corporate finance.
