Welcome to another installment of our “Beyond the Courtroom” series: a recap of recent events our attorneys have attended. From conferences and lectures to summits and symposiums, and more, the BGL team is proud to stay connected to the legal and local communities.
Brown, Goldstein & Levy was a proud sponsor of Celebrate Pro Bono 2025, hosted Wednesday, April 23 at the Baltimore Museum of Industry. The annual event is MVLS’s largest gathering, bringing together over 300 supporters in celebration of its mission to provide free civil legal help to individuals and communities across Maryland. Anthony May, Dana McKee, Monica Basche, Lauren DiMartino, and Erin O’Neill attended the event. Anthony is a member of the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service Board and Dana serves on the organization’s fundraising committee.
Anthony May recently returned to his alma mater, the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, to attend the school’s annual Alumni Weekend held April 24–26. The celebration marked a special milestone—his 10-year law school reunion.
On April 25, Andy Levy joined the Maryland Carey School of Law community to celebrate the esteemed careers of retiring law professors Michael Millemann and Larry S. Gibson. Professors Millemann and Gibson taught generations of students, impacted thousands of attorneys and made a significant difference across Maryland in their five decades at Carey Law. Both are long-time friends of Brown, Goldstein & Levy who each taught several BGL attorneys. Congratulations to Professor Millemann and Professor Gibson on such extraordinary careers!
Lauren DiMartino, Monica Basche, and Catalina Odio attended the Creative Alliance 30th Anniversary Marquee Ball, hosted on April 26 at the Patterson. BGL was a proud sponsor of this year’s gala. The annual gala serves as the Creative Alliance’s largest fundraiser of the year, inviting attendees, supporters, and advocates for the arts in Baltimore to enjoy an evening of connection and creativity. Tickets sold and fundraising from the event support the organization’s free arts programs that invest in diverse communities and center Baltimore as a hub of creativity and culture.
For the second year in a row, BGL proudly sponsored the HealthCare Access Maryland 5K For the Health of It. The race, hosted April 26 in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, benefits HCAM’s work to connect Maryland residents to health insurance and coordinated care. BGL deeply aligns with HCAM’s mission to ensure that every Marylander has an equal and accessible chance to be healthy.
