Brown, Goldstein & Levy joined over 500 law firms in an amicus brief in support of Perkins Coie, which has filed a lawsuit challenging the President’s March 6 Executive Order “Addressing Risks from Perkins Coie LLP.” The Executive Order directs executive-branch officials to take numerous actions negatively targeting Perkins Coie and its personnel, including stripping them of security clearances and government contracts, and barring them from federal property, which would threaten the survival of any law firm.
“Although we do not take this step lightly, our abiding commitment to preserving the integrity of the American legal system leaves us no choice but to join together to oppose the March 6, 2025 Executive Order entitled ‘Addressing Risks from Perkins Coie LLP’ that is at issue in this litigation,” the amicus brief states. The amicus brief further notes that despite the differences in political, social, and economic views among the firms that joined the brief, the firms “are united in their support for the integrity of the adversarial system and the rule of law.”
