Brown, Goldstein & Levy partner Jacqueline Cadman was one of the distinguished attorneys invited to teach the D.C. Bar’s “Foundations of Trial Advocacy” series, which focused on jury selection, on January 8th.
Jacqui is a seasoned criminal defense with almost twenty years of jury trial experience and as a result a deep understanding of jury selection. She appreciates that from selecting the jury to closing arguments, attorneys must be ready to meet and creatively overcome challenges to ensure the best results for their clients. This was just part of the expertise Jacqui shared as a faculty member of part one of this popular four-part series.
Jacqui was joined by other renowned faculty members, Paulette Chapman and Paul Maloney, for the session. During this first class in the “Foundations of Trial Advocacy” series, Jacqui and her co-presenters examined the processes and art of jury selection – including understanding the composition of the jury pool, and strategies for jury selection and deselection – to help equip other attorneys to better advocate for their clients.
Jacqui and her co-presenters received an average rating of 5 for the course, the highest possible rating. Attendees noted that “[the faculty’s] ability to address questions effectively made the learning experience highly valuable,” and that Jacqui and her peers “demonstrated excellent expertise and professionalism throughout the course.” One attendee also stated, “They were truly excellent. I wish I could go to Court with them and watch them in action.”
