On 4 – 5 December 2025, the Department of Law at the University of Ferrara (Italy) will host the XXII edition of the Conference of Young Scholars of International Legal Studies, dedicated to “The Principle of Good Faith in International and European Union Law.” The organizers have issued a call for papers open to scholars of public and private international law and EU law, who are currently enrolled in a PhD program or who obtained their PhD no more than five years ago. . Further information is available here.2. Asser-CSHR Online Summer Programme 2025: International Sport and Human Rights. Since 2022, T.M.C. Asser Instituut (The Hague), in collaboration with the Centre for Sport and Human Rights, has organised a yearly summer course on sport and human rights. This 4th online edition (21 – 23 and 26 – 28 May 2025) brings together speakers from academia and practice (including sport body representatives, athletes, civil society actors) to give participants a balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application. This year, the programme will involve a multidisciplinary discussion of the intersection of sport and human rights with contemporary topics of governance, mega-sporting events, gender, e-sports, remedy, and dispute resolution. 3. International Summer School: Human Rights in Theory and Practice at TU Dresden. The 4th edition of the Summer School, organized by the Center for International Studies at TU Dresden and Leipzig University, will take place from 25 – 29 August 2025. Under the theme “Navigating Change – Contemporary Perspectives on Human Rights,” current challenges such as climate change, health risks, and artificial intelligence will be discussed from a human rights perspective. Experts, including Prof. Dr. Geir Ulfstein (University of Oslo), Prof. Dr. Veronika Bílková (Charles University Prague), and Prof. Dr. Ian Fry (former UN Special Rapporteur on Climate Change and Human Rights) will lead interactive lectures, modern formats such as coffee talks and interdisciplinary panel discussions. 4. Odysseus Summer School on EU Migration and Asylum Law and Policy. The 25th edition of the Odysseus Summer School on EU Migration and Asylum Law and Policy is now open for applications. It will take place both in Brussels at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and online, from 30 June – 11 July. The programme aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of EU immigration and asylum policy from a legal perspective, including the instruments adopted in 2024 under the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum, as well as the latest developments in 2025, such as the Commission’s proposal for a regulation on returns. The summer school is a bilingual programme offering separate courses in English and French, and it is structured in three parts: introductory courses, migration (including visas and borders), and asylum (including solidarity).
