Eve Hill, partner at Brown, Goldstein & Levy, participated in a convening workshop on “Born-Accessible Design for Digital Accessibility: Defining, Scoping Methods, and Setting a Research Agenda” on May 5-6 at the Harvard Radcliffe Institute in Boston.
Eve, along with other leaders in disability and technology, discussed what it means for technology to be “born accessible” and addressed research, policy, and technology tools needed to achieve born-accessible digital technologies.
The Harvard Radcliffe Institute, an institute of Harvard University that fosters interdisciplinary research across the humanities, sciences, social sciences, arts, and professions, hosted the workshop. The two-day event brought together experts and stakeholders to define methods and research agendas for born-accessible design, which is designing digital content and technology with accessibility in mind from the outset. The workshop is part of broader efforts by organizations like the Maryland Initiative for Digital Accessibility (MIDA) to promote born-accessible design principles in technology and policy.
