Brown, Goldstein & Levy partner Kevin Docherty was named to the Best Lawyers in America 2025 Guide in both the Commercial Litigation and Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs categories. This is Kevin’s third consecutive year receiving this honor.
Kevin helps lead BGL’s commercial litigation practice. He represents businesses and their stakeholders in a wide variety of matters including ownership disputes, breach of contract actions, and other complex litigation. While Kevin is always willing to take a case to trial, he also works with clients to resolve disputes outside the courtroom, when possible. In addition to his commercial litigation practice, Kevin represents individuals in personal injury matters, civil rights litigation, and employment disputes.
Kevin’s work has also been recognized by industry leading publications. He has been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers Maryland every year since 2017, and one of the United States’ leading litigators by Lawdragon in 2023 and 2024. He is also an associate fellow with Litigation Counsel of America, an honorary society that recognizes effectiveness and accomplishment in litigation and trial practice.
Kevin is an active member of the legal community in Maryland. Since 2015, he has served on the Board of Directors of the Maryland Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. Since 2019, Kevin has served on the Board of Directors of the Homeless Persons Representation Project, Inc.
