1. Call for Papers: Conference of Young Scholars of International Legal Studies. On 4 – 5 December 2025, the Department of Law at the University of Ferrara (Italy) will host the XXII edition of the Conference of Young Scholars of International Legal Studies, dedicated to “The Principle of Good Faith in International and European Union Law.” The organizers have issued a call for papers open to scholars of public and private international law and EU law, who are currently enrolled in a PhD program or who obtained their PhD no more than five years ago. To apply, authors must submit an abstract (no more than 600 words), in either Italian or English, along with a curriculum vitae, by 22 June 2025, to giovaniinternazionalisti2025 {at} gmail(.)com. 2. Asser-CSHR Online Summer Programme 2025: International Sport and Human Rights. Since 2022, T.M.C. Asser Instituut (The Hague), in collaboration with the Centre for Sport and Human Rights, has organised a yearly summer course on sport and human rights. This 4th online edition (21 – 23 and 26 – 28 May 2025) brings together speakers from academia and practice (including sport body representatives, athletes, civil society actors) to give participants a balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application. This year, the programme will involve a multidisciplinary discussion of the intersection of sport and human rights with contemporary topics of governance, mega-sporting events, gender, e-sports, remedy, and dispute resolution. Through a mix of interactive sessions and productive exchanges, they will discuss what a world of responsible sport looks like. Reflections of previous programmes can be found here and here. 1. Call for Papers: In the Name of National Security – The Fragility of Human Rights. The Centre for Public Law at the University of Cambridge and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid will co-host a workshop In the Name of National Security: The Fragility of Human Rights at the Centro de Estudios Políticos y Constitucionales in Madrid on 3 July 2025. Keynotes will be presented by Professor Iain Cameron and Professor Ana María Salinas de Frías. The workshop is held in conjunction with the European Human Rights Law Review and it is intended that a selection of papers from the workshop will be included in a Special Issue of the journal in 2026. Additional support for the event is generously provided by the Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades, Confinanciado por la Unión Europea. The organisers welcome abstracts on any topic within the theme. To propose a paper, submit an abstract of 250-500 words by 25 April 2025 using this form. Full papers are to be submitted by 26 June 2025, one week in advance of the workshop. Papers may be between 5,000 and 10,000 words (inclusive of footnotes). 2. Leiden-Edinburgh Global Law Summer School: Public Interest Dispute Resolution and Advocacy. The Summer Course on Global Law, offered jointly by Leiden and Edinburgh Law Schools, focuses this year on the theme of Public Interest Dispute Resolution and Advocacy. It offers research-based education on public interest litigation as a core feature of global legal practice. Coordinated by Letizia Lo Giacco (Leiden) and Gail Lythgoe (Edinburgh), there are modules on Transnational Food Governance: Markets, Movements, and Regulations, Global Security Governance, and Climate Change Litigation: Views from the Practice. 1. Call for Papers: Learned Society – European Law Unbound Society. From 25 – 27 September 2025, the inaugural conference of a new Learned Society — European Law Unbound Society (ELU-S) will take place. “Unbound” takes two meanings here: It will cover all scholarly and methodological approaches to the world of European legal Scholarship. It will, too, be a very inclusive society welcoming scholars at all stages of their career: From doctoral students to senior professors and practitioners. 2. Call for Papers: Centre for the Law of EU External Relations. The Centre for the Law of EU External Relations (CLEER) and the T.M.C. 1. Netherlands Institute of Human Rights International Human Rights Summer School. The Netherlands Institute of Human Rights (SIM) will be holding its annual summer school ‘International Human Rights Law: An Introduction’ again from 7 – 11 July 2025. 2. University of Singapore Post-Doctoral Vacancies. The Centre for International Law at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is accepting applications for four Post-Doctoral positions. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of extension to a second year based on the work accomplished during the first year. Applications are open to prospective fellows with research projects in all areas of International Law as well as other areas of public law with direct links to international law.
