1. Call for Papers: Learned Society – European Law Unbound Society. From 25 – 27 September 2025, the inaugural conference of a new Learned Society — European Law Unbound Society (ELU-S) will take place. “Unbound” takes two meanings here: It will cover all scholarly and methodological approaches to the world of European legal Scholarship. It will, too, be a very inclusive society welcoming scholars at all stages of their career: From doctoral students to senior professors and practitioners. 2. Call for Papers: Centre for the Law of EU External Relations. The Centre for the Law of EU External Relations (CLEER) and the T.M.C. Asser Instituut are inviting abstracts for a conference on ‘Shifting institutional dynamics in EU external relations’ that will take place on 12 December 2025 at the premises of the T.M.C. 1. Call for Papers: Ljubljana Sanctions Conference. The Ljubljana Sanctions Conference will be held on 25 – 26 September 2025 at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana. The event aims to encourage interdisciplinary discussions by bringing together practitioners, scholars, and experts to explore various aspects of sanctions in international and European law, politics, and economics. The organisers invite abstracts covering a wide range of topics, including the evolution of international sanctions practices, theoretical and practical perspectives on sanctions, challenges in national sanctions implementation, sanctions and human rights, legal issues surrounding the confiscation of state and private property, sanctions as geo-political and geo-economic tools, links between sanctions and investment law, sanctions and humanitarian action, critical views on sanctioning policies and double standards, and TWAIL perspectives on sanctions.
